amaLunchbox Kitchen

he start of the second school term was a very exciting one for almost 4000 children in the Ilembe district of KZN, when 9 schools received their brand new amaLunchbox container kitchen.

These schools, which are on the Government’s National Feeding programme, will now be able to help in providing, fresh, healthy meals to children every school day.

At Game, we have agreed that there is a desperate need towards the education of children in South Africa, and that good nutrition plays a vital role in this. We believe in the saying that “you can’t teach a hungry child”.

To mark this very special occasion, over 100 team members took time out to visit 7 of the 9 schools, where they prepared the very first meal from the amaLunchbox container kitchen.

Game has invested over R450 000 in these very special kitchens as part of the first phase of kitchens to be delivered. As part of the second phase, another 16 kitchens valued at R800 000 will be in schools across the country, before the end of June.

Each kitchen is fitted with a gas burner, a double bowl sink, cupboards, stainless steel counters, shelving, two big cooking pots and big spoons and enough bright pink tumblers ,bowls and of course a lunchbox for every child.
